Income Limit Raised for College Bound High School Students May 14, 2009

There’s a video on our website (www.CompleteCollegePlanningSolutions.com) that’s taken from a local TV news story on college financial aid.

In the piece, the reporter reveals a fact that most New Jersey parents don’t know: namely, that if your high school senior earns more than $3,000 in the year before entering college, that income will affect his/her financial aid eligibility.

The new figures have just been released for the 2009-10 academic year – and there’s positive news. The limits have been raised by $750. That means dependent students can now earn up to $3,750 in 2009-10 before their income affects financial aid eligibility. But you don’t want to go over that amount.
