New York College Sends Students to the 2010 Vancouver Olympics February 22, 2010
Internships can play a huge role in the jobs graduates are able to secure after graduation. It is important when researching colleges to also research their internship policies including a list of employers who serve as internship hosts and also have a record of hiring college students after graduation.
Having a great college internship with excellent contacts can get you far in the work world; but how life-changing would it be to be able to perform your college internship at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics!
Students at Ithaca College in New York are able to know. NBC Sports has selected Roy H. Park School of Communications, a school within the Ithaca institution as one of only three colleges from which to recruit interns. The students left for Vancouver in January and will return to the campus in early March. To make sure all interns are still on track to graduate on time, special courses have been created specifically for those interns attending the Olympics.
Students will then have the opportunity to be interviewed by NBC Sports for full time jobs late in March after the students have returned and settled back into their classes.
This isn’t the Park School’s first time interning for the Olympics. Park Interns have worked both the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino and 2008 Summer Olympics in China. Good luck interns, bring home the gold!
